About the Clinical Practice Guideline Implementation Subcommittee

The Clinical Practice Guideline Implementation subcommittee has been established as a subcommittee of the PSANZ-SANDA bringing together the work of PSANZ and the former Clinical Practice and Education Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Stillbirth Alliance.

Goals and activities of the Clinical Practice Guideline Implementation subcommittee

  • In collaboration with the PSANZ Policy Committee, to review and update the PSANZ Perinatal Mortality Guideline at least every three years to ensure consistency with current evidence and other relevant national and international standards.
  • To review and revise the PSANZ Perinatal and Neonatal Death Classifications every 6 years or sooner to ensure consistency with current evidence and other relevant national and international standards.
  • To facilitate the implementation of the PSANZ Perinatal Mortality Guideline across Australia and New Zealand via the IMPROVE Program in collaboration with Regional Coordinators.
  • To review and revise the IMPROVE Program at least every three years to ensure consistency with the PSANZ Mortality Guidelines
  • To develop and undertake other education programs aiming to increase the uptake of best practice in other areas aimed at reducing stillbirth and neonatal death and improving bereavement support.
  • To identify priority areas for guideline development and clinical training needs relevant to perinatal mortality.
